It's late now,
and you're asleep in my arms.
I can't blame you, it's been a long day for both of us.
Although I'm tired,
and sleep is inviting with you snuggled up close to me.
Your head on my shoulder,
the warmth of your sweet breath gently tickling my neck,
your arms wrapped around me.
Surrounding me from every angle
with your undying love.
You murmur something, too quietly for me to understand,
as your left hand slides down over my heart.
I lay my hand over yours,
still amazed at the softness of your skin.
There, on your finger,
I feel the ring.
Tears of joy fill my eyes as I recall the moment I slipped it on your finger;
